The finalist photos of the international photojournalism competition presented at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome.

From 28th April to 12th June 2022 Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome will host World Press Photo 2022 exhibition, which is divided up on the first floor of the museum with the exhibition Video makes happy, the history of Italian video art.
The World Press Photo is an important international photojournalism competition that has been awarding the best professional photographers year after year since 1955. The exhibition conceived by the World Press Photo Foundation in Amsterdam hosts the finalist photographs.
The winners, announced on April 7th, are Amber Bracken for the Photo of the Year award and Matthew Abbott for the World Press Photo Story of the Year award. The novelty awards went to Lalo de Almeida and Isadora Romero.
The World Press Photo exhibition embodies the importance of photojournalism and the world that follows from it, how powerful the documentary and narrative capacity of images is and how fundamental it is for the role of historical testimony today.
In various rooms on the first floor of Palazzo delle Esposizioni, suggestive photographs follow one another, able to excite, but above all to make us reflect on the current historical, political and economic situation, projecting our gaze towards a world far from ours but strongly real. Photographs that shed light on the crises, wars, social and economic hardships in the world.
