"I would like to change my old dress which no longer fits me well”

The world apart from a woman who is not just a stylist and a designer but a real artist. The first anthology dedicated to Cinzia Ruggeri, thanks to the sponsor Gucci and the collaboration of the Cinzia Ruggeri Milano archive, from 14 April to 28 August 2022 in the MACRO rooms in Rome.
Cinzia Ruggeri was an Italian stylist, designer and artist, recognized for the surreal notes of her postmodern clothes, signed by the Bloom SpA label. Hers is a work that creates a perfect mix between art, technology and fashion, but also sculpture, performance and architecture. She was one of the first experimenters in the field of fashion to use glass, ping pong balls, liquid crystals, LEDs and polarized lights.
A woman with "long blond hair, inevitable red lipstick, black sunglasses, manicured hands and lacquered nails", as Rita Selvaggio describes her and this is exactly how I imagine her if she had been present at her first retrospective of this surreal exhibition as well as its protagonist.
A varied artistic production, difficult to define, where childhood fantasies are intertwined but refined, complex and simple at the same time, open to all types of mediums and contaminations. Works because only in this way can they be defined, ironic and provocative, unconventional. Features perfectly embodied by the setting, so evocative and immersive, divided into thematic islands that stand out against a pink background and are surrounded by almost hypnotic music.
A mirror surrounded by small hands that protrude from its contours, some dogs scampering along the walls of the room, a turtle and a rabbit playing leapfrog, a table set with shrimp-shaped forks, the famous boots in the shape of Italy, a hand emerging from a black painting showing a glass sphere, a parrot perched on branches, a peacock's tail with gloves.
These are just some of the incredible installations by Cinzia Ruggeri present at the exhibition, a journey between the surreality of these objects and the clothes and accessories designed by the designer, which blend with space in an innovative and experimental, technological and provocative research.
